Itty Critters

Quick gameplay tips

  • Itty Critters are one of those factions that are solid by themselves, but have some great shenanigans when combined with other factions. They excel at temporarily playing 2-power minions, and factions with strong small minions can get some great use out of this.
  • Generally, Calicoin (place a +1 power counter) and Floofairy (draw a card) are your best general critter plays, with the others being more niche but powerful. Krakatoad (above) is the best for popping bases, and Leafaroo (shuffle a card from your discard pile into your deck) is great for reclaiming your other critters from the discard pile.
  • Remember that Recall Critter can be used on ANY players' minion! Use it to both eliminate an inconvenient minion and use its power for yourself all in one!
  • You don't really need to worry about playing Rainboroc, it'll just happen. It's a great way of getting your critters back into your deck, but is a bit lower in the power department than some other titans.

Gameplay

Smash Ketchup?

The Itty Critters are all about making friends with tiny monsters, just long enough to help out and then send them back into the deck. Their higher-power minions focus on playing a minion of power 2 or less from their deck, and they've also got a host of such minions to get the most benefit for the short time they're on the board. These 'critters' have strong abilities to make their short time on the board impactful, that all fulfill their own niche. To support their playstyle, the Itty Critters also have a few ways to increase their minions' power on play. 'Ittypedia' is a play-on-base action that gives their minions played there +1 power until the end of the turn, and 'Evolution' allows them to turn that 2-power minion into a permanent 3-power one! Or even a massive chimera Titan. Rainboroc is slow to come out but crucial for funnelling all of those Itty Critters back into their deck, where they can be recalled and played again. The Itty Critters' main weakness is their reliance on their higher-power minions to reliably get the critters out, Critter Champion and Critter Coach (Critter Champion's talent, but as an on-play effect) are basically essential for the Itty Critters establishing a presence on the board.
