vinyl albums but they're cool ones i swear
I LOVE VIDEOGAME SOUNDTRACKS

Crow Country
A beautifully nostalgic survival horror that makes you feel like you're back in the PS1 era, with all the not-being-2026 comfort that comes along with it. It's an ethereal experience, not just the game but its very existence in our world, it so perfectly captures a specific era of gaming that it feels genuinely surreal that it came out just over a year ago. Suitably eerie and atmospheric tracks abound here.

Yakuza - Like a Dragon
The soundtrack to not only one of my favourite games i played in 2025 but one of my favourite games of all time. While my copy doesn't contain every song on the soundtrack it does have some favourites, 'Receive You The Hyperactive' and 'Rolling Eyes Fall Down The Dragon Wall' come to mind. And where would the soundtrack be without the karaoke songs, ESPECIALLY the incredible Hell Stew. Party night!

Fight Songs - The Music of Team Fortress 2
Dude, what a game. What a soundtrack. i will be playing TF2 until either i or the servers die, it is by far my ride or die game. But not only is the gameplay stellar, the worldbuilding is too! Part of what makes TF2 such an entertaining universe is the promotional material, namely the 'Meet the Team' shorts. Accompanying these shorts is an INCREDIBLE soundtrack by Valve Studio Orchestra, please listen to 'MEDIC!' on repeat.

World Of Horror
Similarly to Crow Country, World of Horror is a spooky game that doesn't quite feel like it should exist. It contains a perfect mix of quiet and cosmic horror that i love, equal parts about old gods invading our world and intimate stories about people going insane while also taking inspiration from Japanese folklore and urban legends.

OneShot
i've spoken about OneShot in a proper WYPT post beforehand, but what an incredible little game. i urge you not to spoil anything and go play it blind, knowing doesn't ruin the game but it's much more effective when you don't know what's going to happen. It's got very similar vibes to Undertale. Accompanying your mission to save the world is a dreamy soundtrack full of plinky-plonky pixels that match the vibe perfectly.

BROOOFOOORCE
RATED A FOR AMERICA!!!!! Broforce is a delightfully stupid and entertaining run-n-gun that acts as a love letter to every single action movie-adjacent piece of media ever. Every one of its characters is lovingly rendered in buff pixels, with every Bro feeling like they've got a role to fill and some new gameplay quirk to bring to the table. It's the freest, mostest Americanest game you'll ever play and comes with a suitably patriotic soundtrack. EVERYTHING EXPLODES!!!!!

Promare
Promare is such a ludicrously fun film that i struggle to see how anyone couldn't enjoy it. Studio Trigger have such a cool artystyle that it's fun to just melt into these bright and colourful worlds, and let the insanity cascade around you. And the music's awesome too, now i can FINALLY listen to 'Inferno' in all the glory it deserves.

Death - Scream Bloody Gore
The world's first true death metal album! This is a very important record in the history of heavier music, and it's only right that i have a copy. Good and gory songs, with simple but evocative titles like 'Mutilation', 'Baptized in Blood' and of course, 'Scream Bloody Gore'.

Ghost - Skeleta
Spoken about Skeleta in my fav stuff of 2025 so not a huge amount to add here. The songs are really good. My favourite one is Peacefield - i think maybe because it worked sooooo well as a live song that the sense of drama carries over so much into the recorded version, for me at least. The dawn of prosperity...a faded scar.

Buckshot Roulette
Like Oneshot i've already spoken about Buckshot Roulette in a WYPT before, but the soundtrack seems like less of an obvious choice to vinyl-ify. You don't notice a huge amount ingame because you're scrabbling for your digital life, but it's really good. Especially the incredible 70K - the brief but impactful track that plays on the victory screen of a run. This communicates the feeling of bittersweet victory, you walk away today but you'll be back to gamble with your life again tomorrow.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Golden Wind
THROW THE PIANO AT THEM GIORNO. You know i love JoJo's, so of course i've got to have it on vinyl. Currently the only soundtrack that's made its way onto the good stuff, but i can't really blame them it is top-tier. Diamond is Unbreakable will happen one day, if i dream hard enough. You should read and watch JoJo's. All of it.

Celeste
If Celeste is anything, it's definitely not a C-List ga- that was a terrible joke. Celeste is amazing, apparently some people think it's a hard game but i didn't notice at all really. Celeste is a masterclass in introducing mechanics and forcing the player to master them without really thinking, the core design ethos of short, challenging platform 'puzzles' makes players think about how to tackle the obstacles in front of them. This task is aided by a STELLAR soundtrack, which i've spoken about before...

The Darkness - Streaming of a White Christmas
A live album recorded and released during the COVID-19 pandemic, an impossible contradiction only possible because not a single fan was in attendance. The magic of streaming christmas allowed us all to get a concert-like experience in those lonely times, reminding us that good times were just on the horizon. Things did just keep getting worse but this album is awesome. 3 beautifully sparkly green vinyls of the greatest campy rock band to ever exist.

Dredge
Wow what a great word dredge is would be awesome if someone made a game called that. And if it was about vAgUeLy UnSeTtLiNg FiShInG then that would be swell. Oh and if it had a great soundtrack! Full of pieces that remind you how deep the ocean is and how tiny your little boat is. That's a pretty tall order though, it'd probably have to be across 3 whole records, pressed on beautifully murky marbled vinyl. If only.
more to be added!
