5 YEARS OF TRASH

It's happened again, somehow my blog has aged another year. If we go by marriage rules it's now wood, if we go by league of legends rules it's now a pentakill. i am very grateful to everyone who has supported my descent into madness over these years, i am eternally thankful to have my own corner of the internet where i can project shadows onto my personal cave wall. This last year has probably been the most exciting for me to work on my blog and hopefully that's been felt by you too, as it's migrated to a new home alongside everything else in my little neocity. To celebrate this glorious day i would like to share with you some miscellaneous screenshots and clips that i've gathered over the last ~year, think of it as a digital scrapbook. i am in no way running out of ideas for what to do for these anniversaries.

Ahh, the True Final Millenium Tower. The final ultra-hard dungeon of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, completed by me on Christmas morning when everyone else was busy. For context, this is a dramatic recreation of my playthrough - this is the very first fight at the bottom of the tower. Every encounter was as lethal as a badger made of knives, requiring careful planning and squeezing as much value as possible out of every turn. Ichiban and Zhao were my damage dealers, Adachi was my tank and Saeko was my healer.

In my eternal quest for perfection one of the game's i've 100%ed is Dead Estate, one of those roguelikes that begs you to break its balance over your beskirted knee with features like unlimited items and looping runs. Not that you can tell because i'm buried underneath a sea of gnomes but this is me as Lydia using her unique money-based buffs to obliterate the inhabitants of a spooky mansion.

Another year, another Scream Fortress. Last year's was a special one, as i fully levelled up my Soul Gargoyle by collecting over 36,000 souls. For those unfamiliar with soul snatching, you get a soul by killing an enemy and collecting Soul Gargoyles during Scream Fortress. Over the years, i have done this enough to collect 36,014 souls. Now, i can rest. Nah i'm going to do it all again next year.

One of the biggest games in the last year has been Street Fighter 6, i've been having a great time honing my skills and getting to know a whole host of fearsome fighters. i set myself the challenge of trying to get to Master rank against SimSim for every fighter, so far i've got there as Terry, Ed, Akuma, Alex and Marisa. Currently i'm working on Ingrid, magically girling up the ranks.

A big part of this last year has been Deltarune, i'm so glad i've been able to play the last couple of parts as they come out, it's the most cutting-edge i've been for ages. The most recent Chapter 5 has been one of the best experiences i've had with the game, it feels like it's got the perfect DNA of both Deltarune and Undertale. That is why i bestow upon it the highest honour i can - emptiness and depression for at least a week after finishing it.
